WORKFORCE

Defiance County is the only county in the region to have a dedicated, full-time Workforce Development Manager who is engaging with the county schools and employers.  The goal is increase knowledge and awareness while building relationships to further Defiance County’s workforce initiative.

A modern workforce development system must include strong connections between employers and training providers to ensure a highly skilled, well-educated, competitive, and productive workforce.

Though collaboration with local schools, Defiance County is moving forward to help educate the schools and community on what modern manufacturing is and how it plays a significant part in workforce development

2021 SUMMER MANUFACTURING CAMP

We are pleased to inform your organization that we will be continuing our Summer Manufacturing Camp for 2021. The camp is an initiative that Senator Sherrod Brown has promoted and is now in 19 counties in Ohio. This year’s summer camp will take place at the Defiance Dream Center from June 14th through June 16th targeting students in grades sixth through eighth. On the final day of camp, students will tour four Defiance County employers.

This is where you come in, we are asking for a donation of $200 to help cover the cost of the following items:
