The Defiance County Economic Development held their annual Summer Manufacturing Camp for Defiance County middle school students. The camp spanned three days, from June 18th to 20th, with 45 students taking part in this year's event. The Summer Manufacturing Camp provided students with a chance to discover career options within their communities, visit nearby manufacturing plants, and listen to insights from professionals. Students gained knowledge about the manufacturing process and engaged in team-building activities.
The campers had the opportunity to visit a range of facilities including General Motors, Defiance Water Treatment Plant, TC Energy, Defiance County Airport/TAS Aviation, Miller Bros Construction, and The Gerken Companies.
At the end of the three-day camp, the campers received Certificates on behalf of Senator Sherrod Brown for completing Summer Manufacturing Camp.
The Defiance County Economic Development team would like to thank General Motors, Defiance Plant for being this year’s Summer Manufacturing Camp Sponsor. They would also like to thank all the businesses that allowed the camp to tour their facility, and everyone involved in making this camp a success!
