Mark Center, OH — Candela Renewables announces its $11.5 million investment in the Candela-Mark Center Renewable Project—an ambitious solar energy initiative that will not only generate clean power but also deliver direct financial benefits to the local community.
As part of the project agreement, Candela will contribute $300,000 to Fairview School District to support a solar energy pilot program, giving students hands-on learning opportunities in renewable energy and STEM education. In addition, the company will contribute $1.2 million to the local general fund, supporting essential services and infrastructure improvements across the county.
The Candela-Mark Center Renewable Project will include the development of a 110 MW solar facility, bringing construction jobs, long-term maintenance roles, and a new era of energy independence to the region. The project reinforces Defiance County’s growing reputation as a hub for forward-thinking investment and rural revitalization.
Construction is expected to begin in 2025/2026, with the facility coming online shortly thereafter.
