Glow Golf Events Held to Fund Grant Program

(Defiance, Ohio) – Golf Outings put the FUN in Fundraiser. Golf Outings are an event that organizations put on in hopes of raising money for a cause. This year, Defiance County Economic Development will host not one, but two Golf Outings! However, it is not your typical Golf Outing…it is a Glow Golf Outing. This unique golf event will feature 25 4-person teams playing a 9-hole scramble-style game with glow-in-the-dark golf balls. The first outing is Friday, September 15th,

with a shotgun start at 9 pm. Because we received an outstanding response from Defiance County and surrounding communities, we are hosting a second golf outing – Glow Golf 2.0! The second outing will have the same concept, and will occur on Friday, October 13th, with a shotgun start at 7:30 pm. With the date being just shy of Halloween, we encourage participants to dress in their Halloween best! Prizes are available to the individual and team with the most creative costumes. Golfers will have even more chances to win prizes throughout both events. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a putting contest, Glow Party Hole, and Door Prizes. So where do these funds go, one might ask? All funds we raise from both golf outings will go towards the Defiance County Economic Developments Homegrown Grant Program. The Homegrown Program is a non-profit that started in 2022. This program allows our organization to connect on another level with those small businesses in Defiance County looking to thrive. Premier Bank sponsored our Grant Program. Each quarter, applications are reviewed by our Board Members where recipients are approved to receive a $500 grant. These funds are available for any of their business needs. We are currently accepting applications for 3rd quarter recipients. Our organization is continuously searching for ways to raise funds for our Homegrown Program. Eventually, we would love to be able to increase the grant to provide more funding for our small businesses here in Defiance County.
