Defiance County Economic Development partners on a regular basis with the regional and local education institutes. In addition to high-quality public and parochial schools, Defiance County is served by two colleges and a technical career center. All take a progressive approach to workforce development, working with our office to create a powerful talent pipeline. Defiance College Defiance College is an independent, liberal arts college affiliated with the United Church of Christ. The campus includes eighteen buildings and access to the 200-acre Thoreau Wildlife Sanctuary. Defiance College features programs in the divisions of: arts and humanities; business, education and social work; and natural science, applied science and mathematics. Northwest State Community College NSCC is located in Archbold, Ohio, and serves the six-county area. The community college offers a numerous 2-year degree and short-term certificate programs for transfer to a 4-year college or university, career changes and career advancement. Four County Career Center As its name implies, FCCC serves Defiance County and the three surrounding counties. Open to grades 1-8 Hosted at Northwest State Community College throughout June & July 2026. Our goal is to sponsor 25 Defiance County students at $125/each for a fully funded camp experience. Camp Sponsorship Flyer Summer Camp Info for Students Brew & Banter This is our free monthly networking event. Open to all those doing business in Defiance County. $250 to sponsor one Brew & Banter event- choose the month you would like to sponsor (first come, first serve). There are 10 scheduled events, January thru October. Event sponsors will have company name listed on registration website for the selected month, and an opportunity to give opening remarks.
