APG Breaks Ground on $25 Million Expansion Project in Defiance County

Defiance County Economic Development is proud to announce the groundbreaking on a major new investment that reinforces our region’s momentum and long-term growth. A Packaging Group (APG) has committed $25 million toward a significant expansion project that will bring new jobs, new facilities, and new opportunities to Defiance County. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 17, 2025, with representatives from APG, City of Defiance Mayor Mike McCann, Rupp Rosebrock Inc., and Defiance County Economic Development.

A Major Investment in Growth

The project includes the construction of a new 80,000-square-foot production facility,

representing a $12.5 million investment, along with an additional $12.5 million in new production equipment. The new site will be located at Enterprise Industrial Park in Defiance, just six miles from APG’s existing Defiance, Ohio operations—allowing the company to grow while maintaining strong local roots.

Job Creation and Workforce Opportunity

This expansion is expected to create 85 new jobs, all of which are open and accessible to individuals from all backgrounds. These positions will support a growing manufacturing operation while providing meaningful employment opportunities for local residents and the surrounding region.

Designed for the Future

The project is being developed on a 35-acre property, intentionally selected to support APG’s long-term growth plans. Future phases of development are anticipated to add up to 240,000 additional square feet of manufacturing space, significantly expanding production capacity and further strengthening Defiance County’s industrial base.
