Defiance County Economic Development Promotes Johnson

Defiance County Economic Development has promoted Paige Johnson to Assistant Executive Director. She more recently held the position of Business Development & Operations Manager. Johnson has only been with the organization a little over a year and already has accomplished a lot in a short timeframe.

“Paige dives right in and truly has a servant’s heart. In the last year, she has established a mentorship program, held multiple business roundtables, along with certified trainings, and now she is spearheading our Four Flags of Freedom Campaign, where we are raising funds to place four massive American Flags, along U.S. 24,” stated Executive Director Erika Willitzer. In her new role, Johnson will take on more of a role assisting businesses with the workforce and expansion needs. Prior to coming to Defiance County Economic Development, Johnson worked at economic development at Fulton County Economic Development, and prior to that has extensive experience in accounting. She holds degrees in both business and accounting.

“I am very excited to embrace my new role as the Assistant Executive Director here at Defiance County Economic Development. I am beyond thankful to have Erika Willitzer as not only a boss, but a mentor who I can count on for support and advice in all aspects of my role. Working with Erika is more than just carrying out tasks, it’s about learning, growing, and accomplishing together. And I know that as a team we will continue doing great things for Defiance County for many years to come,” said Johnson.

Defiance County Economic Development’s mission is to generate new investment into the county, along with creating high paying jobs. Ultimately, creating prosperity for all.

“Paige is a perfect fit not only because she has all the talent, but because she has no hidden agendas. She only wants to help others! We’re very excited to have her on our team, and even more excited to see all the good she’ll accomplish in Defiance County, Ohio,” added Willitzer.
